EssilorLuxottica has created a new way to experience eyewear with frames that change colour when exposed to light.
The frames, known as Ray-Ban Change, tap into the power of Transitions and its technology, the company said in a statement.
Created with photochromic dyes from Transitions, the Red Dot Design award-winning Ray-Ban Change collection has unique colours and patterns that rapidly transform when exposed to UV light, with pigments getting stronger as light increases.
The new light-responsive Ray-Ban frames can be combined with Transitions Gen-S lenses, which are ultra-responsive to light for “effortless” vision.
Not only are the frames dynamic, but the lenses are too for results that unite fashion and lifestyle to transcend the eyewear category, the statement said.
The Transitions GEN S lens palette includes “eight exclusive colours, with a brand-new addition called ‘Ruby’, providing a wide range of pairing possibilities to complement any look.
“Fully clear indoors and beautifully coloured outdoors, the lenses are optimised to be true to tone at all stages for vibrant tints in any light.”
