One of Australia & New Zealand’s largest optometry employers, EssilorLuxottica, has welcomed 56 graduates in 2025 across its ANZ network, with most beginning their careers in regional locations.

The graduates – now working across OPSM, Laubman & Pank, and EyeQ practices – were recently introduced as part of EssilorLuxottica’s EyeLaunch signature induction program.

Ms Tegan Matheson, senior professional services manager for NSW/ACT, said with the majority practising regionally, this aligned with the company’s broader mission to help people “see more and be more”.

It helped to “enhancing regional eyecare access while providing graduates with meaningful opportunities to make a real impact from the outset of their careers”.

EyeLaunch 2025 was held in Sydney in March and welcomed graduates for an immersive three-day, two-night experience. It’s designed to introduce them to the EssilorLuxottica business, its culture, and the vast opportunities within the global organisation.

“The program aimed to equip graduates with the knowledge, confidence, and connections to launch their careers successfully,” Matheson said.

“Through a blend of interactive workshops, keynote presentations, and practical sessions, our newest optometrists explored topics, including our lens technologies, advanced diagnostic tools, evidence-based myopia management, and a DISC communication styles workshop – a favourite among attendees.”

EyeLaunch aims to inspire, educate, and connect EssilorLuxottica’s new graduate optometrists, providing a strong clinical foundation while highlighting the innovation at the heart of the company.

“This year’s program featured refreshed content, incorporating the latest clinical developments and technological advancements,” Matheson said.

“A key focus was emerging diagnostic and treatment solutions for dry eye, along with innovations such as remote optometry. These sessions showcased the exciting future and ways our graduates can play an active role in shaping emerging models of care.

“The 2025 graduate cohort embraced EyeLaunch with enthusiasm, describing it as energising, immersive, and practical. Graduates appreciated the collaborative environment, hands-on learning, and the opportunity to connect with peers and leaders across the business.”

For optometry students set to graduate in the near future, Matheson said EssilorLuxottica offered “a world of possibilities”.

As a global leader in vision care and innovation, she said the company empowered optometrists to deliver best-in-class care supported by state-of-the-art technology, premium lens solutions, and a strong professional network.

“With access to continuous professional development and cutting-edge technology, our graduates are well-equipped to grow their careers with the business,” she said.

“From clinical optometry to business leadership, EssilorLuxottica offers graduates a world of possibilities to shape their own future.”
