Essilor’s Stellest lenses are now available in sun tints and a range of different colours.
With the growing prevalence of myopia in children, early intervention is crucial to slow progression and safeguard long-term eye health, says the company.
“Research has demonstrated that an important strategy to reduce the development of myopia is encouraging children to spend more time outdoors.”
The International Myopia Institute advises increasing time outdoors as a first-choice lifestyle recommendation in potentially reducing myopia development.
Furthermore, spending more time outdoors may also reduce the amount of time children spend on near-work activities indoors, which has been associated with myopia progression.
The Stellest sun lenses combine advanced myopia control technology with tinted lenses that provide 100% UV protection, reducing exposure to harmful ultraviolet rays that can contribute to long-term ocular health issues.
This innovation allows children to enjoy outdoor activities safely while benefiting from a proven solution to manage their myopia, it says.
