Stellest lenses demonstrated significant myopia control in their original two-year clinical trial. After extending the study for another two years, the results have demonstrated:
- Essilor Stellest remained effective in the third and fourth year of wear
- Myopia control is sustained in older children (11-15 years) over a four-year period
- In the single vision control group, while myopia progression slows over three years, it doesn’t stop and is not controlled
- A virtual control group, used in the fourth year, may serve as a model for other studies to avoid the ethical dilemma of maintaining a control group when efficacy in the treatment is clearly demonstrated.
