RANZCO 2025, the organisation’s 56th and biggest Congress yet, wrapped on Monday, 17 November, bringing an end to four days of insightful sessions covering sector innovation and issues, plus a comprehensive look at new technology, products and techniques.
The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) said that, over those four days, 2,800 people had attended the Melbourne event, with close to 200 of those tuning in online.
More than 90 exhibitors in the trade hall had kept them across all of the new products and technology.
RANZCO said the event had been its “largest yet – and it’s been electric”.
It said the highly successful conference had also involved a number of pre-Congress events, the Practice Managers’ Conference, more than 80 committee meetings, RANZCO’s AGM, social functions, and many other activities in the Exhibition Hall of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The final day’s program offered a mix of learning and reflection from leading experts, including Professor Celia Chen and Professor Dinesh Selva, followed by the Australian Vision Research Plenary.
Sessions would cover AI in ophthalmology, uveitis, cornea, medical retina, ocular oncology, and more.
Also planned was the Clinical Controversies Plenary and the final Rapid Fire Sessions in the afternoon before the event wrapped later today and plans shifted to RANZCO 2026, set for Auckland.
