A senior optometrist and director of an award-winning optometry practice in Hereford, UK, has collaborated with Device Technologies to deliver a free mini-series on myopia management.
Professor Nick Rumney, who joined BBR Optometry in 1991 and is now its owner/director, joined Device Technologies mini-series host Jarrod Power in March to discuss the many facets of myopia management.
A third-generation optometrist, Rumney gained his qualifications in the UK and was General Optical Council-registered in 1981. He went on to gain his Optometry MSc from the University of Melbourne in 1986, and was awarded the Philip Cole Research Excellence Award in 2016.
Device Technologies three-part mini-series equips eyecare practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to effectively introduce and ensure longevity and viability of their myopia management business.
Jarrod Power, associate product manager in optometry and ophthalmology diagnostics at Device Technologies, said each episode has something for everyone, regardless of where they are on their myopia management journey.
“It was a pleasure interviewing Nick on the strategy of adding myopia management to his practice, from the business side right though to implementation, staffing and equipment required,” Power said.
In episode one, Rumney and Power discuss the ‘why’ of myopia management, before moving onto the foundations of introducing myopia management to your practice in episode two. The third episode focuses on optimising your established myopia management practice.
