Device Technologies has launched MEGA MONTH, offering exclusive pricing, deals, product demonstrations and opportunities to connect with its representatives for the month of September, in lieu of cancelled conferences.
The company has devised the initiative due to the cancellation of the biannual O=MEGA21 conference, which is often a key opportunity for ophthalmic instrument suppliers to showcase their latest technology to optometrists and other eyecare professionals.
As part of its MEGA MONTH campaign, Device Technologies has effectively moved its exhibition online, featuring its full product portfolio, as well as reviews by product review specialists on the advanced features of instruments.
In states where lockdown restrictions don’t apply, eyecare professionals can book an appointment to visit one of the company’s five showrooms for demonstrations and additional information.
Downloadable content, including product information, quick reference guides and clinical studies can also be accessed on the MEGA MONTH landing page.
In addition to cancelled events, Device Technologies ophthalmic diagnostics product manager Mr Angus Hatfield-Smith said the Australian eyecare community had been impacted by a drop in face-to-face services and elective surgery suspensions.
This had created a substantial backlog, while studies suggest the pandemic is now exacerbating conditions like myopia.
“As with many other exhibitors, Device Technologies looks forward to the OMEGA conferences to network with industry professionals, discuss emerging trends and introduce the products and technology we have to offer clinics,” Hatfield-Smith said.
“As an organisation, we recognise the increased need for digital eye health solutions, especially during this pandemic. We really believe in the products we have to offer and believe we can support clinics in catering to the new high demand.
“This is why we have decided to host MEGA MONTH for the month of September.”
During this month, he said the company would be offering exclusive pricing, deals, product demonstrations and opportunities to connect with its representatives to explore how it can support upgrading optometric clinics.

Next month, Device Technologies is also planning to join BOC Ophthalmic Instruments, Designs For Vision and OptiMed to run an event – dubbed O=PEN HOUSE – for Melbourne 8-9 October and Brisbane 15-16 October as an alternative local opportunity to showcase their range of devices and equipment.
