Disposable lens sales increased by 19% last year, which in turn helped it secure a 44.6% share of the US market. Meanwhile, sales of the two-week lens modality made up 21.4% of the market after its sales declined by 6.8% during the period, while monthlies were up 3.8% and accounted for 33.5% of the market share.An increase in dollar growth was reported for multifocals at 14%, while sales of toric also increased by 10%. Bausch + Lomb and Alcon experienced the highest sales increases amongst manufacturers of 10% and 9% respectively, with Alcon leading the market in share gains for the year.Products with the highest year-over-year gain were 1-Day Oasys and 1-Day Oasys for Astigmatism by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, and Dailies Total 1 Multifocal by Alcon.
