The distribution of the D.O.R.C (Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center) product portfolio in Australia and New Zealand will transition to ZEISS from 31 March 2025.
Products from the ophthalmic surgical instrument manufacturer have been supplied locally by Designs For Vision, part of ParagonCare, but will change hands after ZEISS announced in April 2024 it would acquire D.O.R.C.
The deal included the EVA NEXUS platform, one of the ophthalmology market’s most advanced dual-function systems, which ZEISS expects to enhance its Retina Surgery Workflow.
D.O.R.C is considered a leader in ophthalmic surgical instruments since its inception in 1983, focusing on cataract and vitreoretinal surgery.
“As of the transition date, ZEISS ANZ will take over all responsibilities for orders, product support, and customer service concerning D.O.R.C products,” ZEISS said in a statement.
“A brief order-freeze period will occur prior to the transition to facilitate the transfer of stock. Customers will receive detailed information specific to this order freeze shortly.”
For any questions or support regarding D.O.R.C products after 31 March, contact ZEISS via orders.au@zeiss.com or 1300 365 470.
