Australian owned and operated hyperparallel OCT (HP-OCT) manufacturer, Cylite, is marking annual Australian Made Week running from 20 – 26 May.
The company – which manufactures the world’s first HP-OCT – is based in Mulgrave in Melbourne’s east. It employs more than 100 people to design, manufacture and support the hardware and software that goes into every HP-OCT.
Australian Made Week is an annual event to celebrate “all that Australians create”. Australian singer songwriter Ms Jessica Mauboy has been named Australian Made Week ambassador and is encouraging the purchasing of products bearing the Australian Made green and gold kangaroo logo.
“I couldn’t be prouder to be Australian and come from this beautiful country where we have such an abundance of clever makers and growers who work so hard to produce for us and the rest of the world,” Mauboy said.
“Buying Australian is an important way we can support each other and ensure all Australians prosper. So, let’s make some noise for supporting Aussie businesses.”
In a statement, Cylite said it appreciates the support of local clinicians, and the work of the Australian Made team to raise awareness of buying local.
“We are very proud to be the creators of this unique and groundbreaking technology and equally proud of our contribution to the local economy. Not only do we employ over 100 Australians, but we also utilise a number of other local suppliers of goods and services, so benefits from the local manufacture of the HP-OCT does beyond just us,” the company said.
For more than 35 years, the Australian Made, Australian Grown green-and-gold logo featuring the outline of a kangaroo has identified products as authentically Australian.
Australian Made Week is being promoted through TV, radio, print and online advertisements featuring Mauboy later this month.
