Australian lens manufacturer CR Labs showcased “groundbreaking technologies” aimed at advancing independent optometry at O-SHOW24 from 17-18 May.
Attendees had the opportunity to experience AustralisVR, a progressive lens design that virtually maps the patient’s gaze.
According to CR Labs, this offers unparalleled insight into visual behaviour, and aids in precise diagnosis and ongoing treatment planning.
“This allows for the creation of highly customized progressive lenses tailored to transform each patient’s view of the world around them,” the company said.
Also on display was the CR Tower, a 3D lens-centring platform that is said to streamline the lens dispensing process.
“With nanometric precision, the tower measures more than 100,000 controlled points, providing professional lens centration based on the patient’s position of wear,” CR Labs said.
“This facilitates unique personalisation and ensures maximum lens design performance.”

Participants also learned about CR Labs’ exclusive Full Circle partnership program with Safilo.
This flagship program allows independent practices to provide a ‘complete pair’ of lenses and frames to their customers with “industry-leading” service times.
“Practices can showcase world-renowned brands such as Carrera, Kate Spade, Carolina Herrera, and Boss Eyewear while offering rapid service turnaround and exceptional quality facilitated by CR Labs’ local manufacturing facility,” the company said.
“The Full Circle Program underscores CR Labs’ commitment to providing comprehensive solutions catering to the diverse needs and preferences of patients visiting independent practices.”
CR Labs also showcased its recently launched MyoME and MyoStock lenses for myopia management in children. Also on display was the Avulux migraine lens, which is said to offer relief to individuals prone to migraines and light sensitivity.
Mr Adam Fletcher, CR Labs CEO, said: “We were thrilled to be part of O-SHOW24 and to have the opportunity to showcase our latest innovations.”
“As Australia’s largest manufacturing lens laboratory, we are driven by a passion for delivering quality-leading products and providing exceptional service and support to independent optometry in Australia. It was exciting to meet with our industry colleagues at this event.”
He adds: “CR Labs extends gratitude to all who visited their booth at Lens 3, where they had the chance to experience firsthand the future of optical technology.”
