Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has deepened his ties with the Carrera Eyewear brand to release his own optical and sunglass range.

Cummins became a Carrera brand ambassador in 2023. Safilo Australia, which manufactures the brand, said he was the perfect match for the label “blending contemporary lifestyle and sport attitude”.

The new world-first collaboration is being called ‘The Pat Cummins Selection’.

Launching in October 2024, it features a range of six best-selling Carrera optical frames and sunglasses redesigned and customised with an exclusive new green colour and gold signature.

“The Pat Cummins Selection provides our customers with an exclusive world-first product offering,” said Mr David Pearson, senior director APAC at Safilo.

The sunglass range includes the Grand Prix 2 polarised (pictured) and Victory C polarised models, as well as the 303 which comes with Ultrapolar lenses. Image: Safilo.

“Pat collaborated with our Carrera designers in Italy to select the popular eyewear models and bring them to life with unique colours and inscriptions.”

The range features Cummins’ signature printed in gold on the lenses of the sunglasses and the temples of the optical frames.

Together with the new green colouring on Carrera frames, the “Pat Cummins Selection” inscription “identifies the exclusivity of a conscious choice and makes the glasses immediately recognisable in an elegant way”.

The range includes popular Carrera optical frames 331, 308 and the 8061 model which comes complete with a clip-on green polarised sun lens. The sunglasses offering includes the Grand Prix 2 polarised and Victory C polarised models, as well as the 303 which comes with Ultrapolar lenses.

“Stores interested in the new Carrera Pat Cummins Selection will have access to special pre-sale packages as well as a range of exciting in-store marketing materials to support the program,” Safilo stated.

“Even more importantly, stores will be able to leverage the extensive national media campaign that will promote the range to their customers over the coming months.”
