O=MEGA PREVIEW: Carl Zeiss Vision Care will launch its new digital centration device, Zeiss Visufit 1000, to the Australian market at O=MEGA. The ophthalmic device manufacturer will also offer a special pricing promotion at the show.
The Visufit 1000 creates a 180-degree view of the patient’s face, with no frame clip needed, using nine cameras and 45 million points. The centration data determination is based on 3D coordinates.
The back vertex distance can be determined for both sides, right and left. Additionally, a 3D digital reconstruction of the face can be created, enabling the back vertex distance to be captured, even with frames with thick temples.
It is expected that the 3D reconstruction – Zeiss Avatar – of the consumer’s face will one day provide the foundation for future device modules. The data captured with this system are so detailed that it will be possible to use them to allow consumers to try on spectacles virtually as well as for customised frame designs,” Zeiss Vision Care chief operating officer Mr Marc Wawerla said.
