Asia’s new flagship optics and eyewear trade show SILMO Singapore is returning for a second edition in April 2024, featuring some of the most forward-thinking concepts in optics and eyewear and educational content from industry thought-leaders.

After launching in 2023 with more than 250 international and local brands from 15 countries – attracting 2,175 trade visitors – the event will run 24 to 26 April 2024 at the Suntec Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Organises are promising an agenda catering for all optical professionals in the region to discover the latest advances, including:

Futurology – A space dedicated to the theme of ‘techno responsibility’, with a focus on innovations that will gradually shape the future of optics and eyewear.

Trends Forum – With optics and sunglasses following the seasonal rhythms and creative meanderings of fashion and design, attendees can discover aesthetic trends and original styles with a selection of eyewear.

SILMO Talks – A place where industry players share experiences and discuss the future of their businesses, products and distribution.

SILMO Academy – A conference for all optical and eyewear professionals, featuring a line-up of global experts to access best practices, new knowledge, innovations, meet and network.

The SILMO Academy conference is run in conjunction with the International Association of Opticians. Image: SILMO Singapore.

In collaboration with the International Association of Opticians (IAO), SILMO Academy will explore topics such as contact lenses, under 45s, over 45s and ocular health and patient wellbeing.

Ms Elaine Grisdale, SILMO Academy scientific director, said it was exciting to see the SILMO Academy concept grow globally, particularly in Singapore.

“The fact that so many international opinion leaders, eyecare experts and vision scientists have responded positively and with enthusiasm to support the event is a testament to its credibility and growing appeal,” she said.

“We have worked hard, based on feedback from last year’s event, to bring themes which are of interest or concern to delegates. I am very much looking forward to meeting colleagues in April for a fruitful exchange.”

Program and registration are available here.
