O=MEGA PREVIEW: Alcon Laboratories will unveil a new contact lens specifically designed for new wearers. The company’s Precision1 product provides sharp vision, all-day comfort, ease of handling, and has been engineered using Smartsurface technology; factors that help address the main reasons for drop out among contact lens wearers. The lens design incorporates a microthin, high-performance layer of moisture on the lens surface that exceeds 80% water.According to Alcon: “Today, 72% of people aged 15 to 24 are interested in wearing contact lenses. Despite this high interest, contact lenses penetration rains low. They struggle with the adjustment and 70% drop out within six months.”Alcon will also introduce a new consumer program called The Great Big Precision1 Try On, in which patients can try the lenses free for 30 days.
