US employee stole $200,000 from Luxottica

Ms Kennyetta Louis, 34, of Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States has been found guilty of stealing about $US200,000 from her employer Luxottica Retail.

She claimed she was underpaid, according to a 30-April release from Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.

Ms Louis pleaded guilty Wednesday to identity fraud and aggravated theft after she stole the money from Luxottica Retail. She will be sentenced on 10 June.

She used her role as manager of the company's corporate credit division to charge $US189,652 worth of clothing, jewellery, appliances, airline tickets, hotel rooms, entertainment tickets, dental work and new windows for her residence, according to Mr Fornshell's release.

The thefts took place during a four-month period ending in November 2014, the release said.

"There are probably times when everyone feels like they should be compensated more by their employer. But for Ms. Louis to rationalise that she was underpaid by almost $50,000 per month - I think she might have an inflated sense of the value of her work for Luxottica," Mr Fornshell said in the release.
