Scholarships open for prospective eye researchers

06/06/2018By Matthew Woodley
Applications for UNSW Scientia PhD scholarships for the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS), which offer free tuition and financial support of up to $50,000 per annum, are now open.

According to UNSW, SOVS has a structured postgraduate program that involves in-house research seminars, and a course designed to advance students’ methodological, statistical and research skills. Additionally, it also provides access to some of the best researchers from Australia and overseas, who offer mentoring and help with the creation of a personalised career and leadership development plan.

Scholarships are available for seven separate projects that are focused on a number of different research areas, including dry eye, myopia, choroidal melanocytes, and acanthamoeba.

Applications close on July 20 and more information on both the scholarships and research projects is available via the UNSW website.
