Opternative launches new software for optometry clinics

07/05/2018
Healthcare technology company Opternative has released software that allows eyecare practices to include digital refractions and visual acuity tests on their websites.

The company, which has disrupted the eyecare industry in the US with its online eye tests, said the added feature would help practices increase revenue, retain patients and deliver new traffic through referral channels and increased access points.

"We’re committed to helping eye care professionals get the technology they need to increase access to their practice."
Brent Rasmussen, CEO of Opternative

“We’re committed to helping eye care professionals get the technology they need to increase access to their practice. We view our technology as a tool to help optometry practices grow their market share and want eye doctors to know that we are committed to working with them,” Opternative CEO Mr Brent Rasmussen said.

The EZRx software can be used as a standalone technology on a website for prospective patients who qualify for the online eye tests, or to complement a traditional eye exam.

While the company had previously relied on ophthalmologists to verify the results of its online tests, EZRx has been marketed to optometrists as well and is available for website hosting as a paid subscription service.
