New eyewear brand Project Green is immediately living up to its sustainability ethos with more than 1,200 trees planted in the Amazon rainforest through its support of environmental rejuvenation initiative, One Tree Planted.
One of the latest eyewear labels to hit the independent Australian optical market, Project Green is positioned towards the high end of the sustainable eyewear category and is intended for environmentally-conscious practices featuring high quality bio-acetates, compostable demo lenses and a market leading hinge design.
The brand has been available since September 2023 through Eyes Right Optical, which announced that for every Project Green frame purchased, a tree will be planted via the One Tree Planted foundation.
“Eyes Right Optical launched Project Green at O=MEGA23 to a huge success, the brand has hit a gap in the market for eco-friendly, luxury eyewear,” Eyes Right Optical national brands manager Ms Lisa Wymond said.
“We are absolutely thrilled that independent eyewear practices have embraced Project Green and understand it’s eco-friendly approach. The early take up and rapid sell through that we’ve seen from Project Green shows that both practices and patients are looking to do that bit extra for the environment while also expressing their individual style with design-focused, eco-friendly luxury eyewear.”
At O=MEGA23, Project Green also took out the Sustainability category as part of the 2023 ODMA Awards for Excellence program.
